Discover Authentic Italy with Massimo Bruno

Authenticity is a word often used but rarely in its truest sense, the real meaning is often forgotten, for to be authentic is to be true to ones core values and roots.  In fact, Merriam Webster says:  Authentic is 1 : conforming to an original so as to reproduce essential features  2: made or done the same way as an original <authentic Italian fare> 3: true to one’s own personality, spirit, or character.  Each one of these descriptions could be, and often are, used to describe Massimo Bruno, his food, his personality and his love of his home, Puglia Italy.

So it is from this authenticity that Massimo passionately creates MEALS that are part masterpiece and part historical legend.  He uses this same passion to create TOURS of Italy that truly take guests to the  authentic Italy, with a focus on its core of GENEROSITY, FAMILY AND SHARING.  A trip or a meal with Massimo is like living in two worlds, the modern day world that makes the experience possible and the historical world that created the food, the recipes, the architecture and the love that infuses everything he does with authenticity!

Massimo’s favourite saying “dal niente si fa tutto” or from” nothing comes everything” is truly the authentic Italian way and is truly the inspiration Massimo Bruno uses in everything he does.  Take some time and experience Italy with him through his Regional Italian Supper Clubs, Alla Famiglia Tour of Puglia, Italy this July or through his Special Event Catering.   Ciao Ciao!

Eat, Drink and Give has teamed up with a number of Toronto restaurants and Ontario and international wineries, to plan an evening of food and wine, with all proceeds going to Doctors without Borders.  Roy Thomson Hall generously donated the space for the fundraiser.

In a letter issued today, Dina Meghdadi of MSF Canada, stated that, “MSF is very grateful to the staff, volunteers and donors of Eat, Drink and Give for their generous support and hard work”.

Médecins sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders has been present in Haiti since 1991 providing emergency maternal and mental healthcare to thousands of women in and around Port-au-Prince.

To date, MSF has sent an additional 300 international and over 600 national staff to aid with the relief effort following the earthquake.  They have treated over 6000 patients, performed close to 1000 surgeries, and sent in over 320 tonnes of medical aid so far.

Eat, Drink and Give is a small group of food and wine lovers in Toronto brought together by their support for local products.  They have taken the opportunity to combine their common passion with the idea of helping Haiti recover from the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.”

Massimo Bruno

is a chef, culinary tour guide and teacher. He learned to cook authentic homestyle Italian food in the kitchens of his mother, grandmother and aunt’s. There’s no pretense or ‘ball sheet’ at Massimo’s table, but there’s plenty of great food a lot of passion, and maybe an opinion or two (or three or four).
